Interviews: Chipmunk
We love Chipmunk here on the Hollyoaks Music Show he's a real Champion... Sorry for that terrible pun... Anyway we managed to grab a quick interview with him while he was here so have a little read.
What will you be performing for us today?
Today I will be performing my brand new single Flying High, Take-Off and Champion. I'm really excited, it is always a pleasure to be at the Hollyoaks set, last time I performed in a shop (price slice) and today I'm outside Jacqui McQueen's house.
If you could pick one member of the Hollyoaks cast to collaborate with who would it be?
I’d say Jorgie Porter because I heard she does her own street dancing and that would be pretty cool.
What month would you be in the Hollyoaks Hunks calendar?
If I was in Hollyoaks Hunks calendar I would be in November as it’s the month I’m born in and not many people have their tops off in winter.
What kind of character would you like to be if you were in Hollyoaks?
I'd like to play a character that you wouldn't really associate with me, I'd like to test myself, the best actors play characters outside their comfort zone.
Tell us a secret?
I used to have behavioural difficulties and I was excluded in school, I was a very clever but naughty boy, now hopefully I'm a clever but good boy.
What are they putting in the Tottenham water to make so many successful artists?
I think it is just the fear of failure and minimal resources. A few of us have managed to make the most out of few resources, Skepta, Wretch 32 are like big influences and inspirations to me, they were big before I even started so I’ve followed in their footsteps sort of.
How's your life changed in the past year or so?
My life has changed quite a lot, I've managed to situate myself in a comfort zone of artists that I aspire to work with. It has opened my eyes and made me determined and believe that one day I'm going to be able to collaborate with somebody like Kanye West or Li'l Wayne.
Are you looking forward to the festival circuit?
Definitely, I can't wait, a lot of time and thought has gone into the show; my band, the set list. I can't wait to get on sage and have fun
Who will you be checking out while you're at the festivals this summer?
I’ll be checking out Wretch as always, and Jessie J, I like Jessie she’s great. And maybe whatever girlband is looking fit...
How would you describe your style?
I don't really think about style I just wear the stuff I like.
