Interviews: Jessica Forrest

Leanne Holiday, it could be said, is a bit of a nightmare, slightly stalkerish and occasionally psychotic. That is not something you could label at the girl who plays her. Jess Forrest is a lovely, shiny, happy kind of girl and we grabbed a quick interview with her to talk all things fashion, fame and music.

Your character is a bit of a nightmare ex. Do you find that boys tend to avoid you in the ‘real world’ because they think you might be mad?
No but if they watch the show, they are like “argghh she’s a bit crazy” and I’m like “No, I’m not like that really”. Then they are pretty cool with me and we have a laugh.

Would you ever shave your head for a role?
If I was into the role, then I think I would. If they were going to pay me lots of money, that is… I’m also intrigued to see what my natural hair colour would be when I grew it back.

You’re going away to a desert island, but you’re only allowed to take three items of clothing – what do you choose to take?
Bikini, big baggy vest top, and a pair of socks because my feet like socks.

Who are your three ultimate dinner party guest?
Someone tall dark and handsome, just like me. Someone funny like Chris Lilley I’d get him to be Mr. G all night long, and my big sis Carli.

What’s the worst chat-up line you’ve ever heard?
A Belgian guy came up to me once and said “I love your colours” that was a bit odd.

Describe your style in three words.
Tall, dark and handsome

How does your style differ/compare to Leanne’s?
They are quite similar actually, I think costume do look at my clothes and mirror them slightly, even the trilby hats.

Which character on the show has the best style?
Darren Osborne back in the day…with the string vests and highlighted hair, mmmm

Who is your favourite music artist/band of the year?
Everything Everything, they played at Parklife the other week and now I can’t stop listening to them.

A song that you play when you’re sad?
Do me a Favour, Arctic Monkeys, because it makes me even sadder.

A song that you play when you’re happy?
Darwin Deez, Radar Detector.

A song that you play when you’re angry?
Anything by Rage Against the Machine or Pantera.

A song that you play to wake you up?
Wake up by the Boo Radleys

A song that you play to chill you out?
Laura Marling, she’s good!

If Leanne was ever killed off the show, what would you like to be played at her funeral?
Psycho Killer by Talking Heads.

If you could write a storyline for Leanne, what would you like to see her do?
I really want to meet Leanne’s mum who I’d like to be really OTT like Leanne, or the other way - really straight laced.
