ANDY MOSS

Character: Rhys Ashworth

Andy trained at the North Cheshire Theatre College where he gained a Diploma in Drama. He also attended Sheena Simon College where he obtained a National Diploma in Musical Theatre.

Andy has worked in TV for a number of years with Hollyoaks being his first regular role. Previously, Andy played Craig Gutteridge in the BBC drama series Cutting It as well as having roles in Merseybeat, Doctors and Coronation Street. On being in Hollyoaks Andy says, “Hollyoaks is a trendy exciting drama that has great storylines. It can be hard work and long hours but it’s definitely worth the effort.”

Indie or dance music?

Indie music, but that covers the rock bracket as well. I’m more of a rocker than an indie kid.

Do you do skinny Jeans?

No. I’ve always worn baggy clothes. People used to call me a mosher at school because I wore baggy pants.

Do you own anything pink?

A hat with a pink Adidas logo. I also have the jumper to match.

If you could have any car what would it be?

I’d like just a little Audi or something. Nothing too flashy! A mid-range car… either that or maybe one day Ricky Whittle (Calvin Valentine) might let me borrow his Lamborghini

What’s the best gig you have been to?

This year the best gig I went to was Kings Of Leon closing the Leeds Festival. It was an epic moment that I’ll remember forever. My first ever gig I went to was in 1996 for No Doubt when they first came over to England. To see their show in a tiny venue was what got me loving music not because their songs are amazing or anything, but more because of the whole package. They put on such a great show in such a little venue. It was at The Boardwalk in Manchester, which has now shut down. Then also, there was the time I saw Incubus in a tiny venue. I like to see bands grow!

Pub or club?

Pub. I’ve started loving pub quizzes! I think you show your age when you prefer a pub to a club!

Do or would you wear guyliner?

No. The only beauty thing I do is applying moisturiser. That’s fine, as is plucking the monobrow part between your eyebrows. Each to their own!

Do you have a first date outfit? – What is it?

As a 28 year old man, I don’t really have a first date outfit, but it would just be something smart casual. Shirt and jeans or something. Definitely not shoes!

I’m not very good at jokes, so I usually say the first joke I learned, which is… Why can’t a car play football? Because it’s only got one boot!
