Paloma Faith is a quirky sort to say the least. Write her off as an Amy Winehouse wannabe at your peril for our Faith has got a lot more about her than that. The ex-magician’s assistant, trained contemporary dancer, St Martin’s alumni with an MA in theatre direction, performer in burlesque shows, and actress, has brought all these arty elements into her pop career to make her one of the most interesting music figures around today.

These eccentricities are far from redundant though because they’ve already helped to get two of her singles (‘Stone Cold Sober’ and ‘New York’) into the top 20.
