Character: Jacqui McQueen

Claire was born in Wakefield, West Yorkshire but later moved away to study at the Guilford School of Acting. She graduated with a BA Honors in Acting and was awarded The Acting Award in 2001.

Claire appeared in the national tour of Tom’s Midnight Garden in which she played the female lead of Hattie.

Before joining the cast of Hollyoaks in 2006, Claire’s other television appearance’s include Waking the Dead, Waterloo Road and Coronation Street. As a child Claire was a British Champion Gymnast for 10 years in Sports Acrobatics.

What one thing in your wardrobe can’t you live without?

A hat because it can cover a multitude of sins.

Do you do vintage?

Yes I do. I actually have one of my mum’s polar necks from when she was a teenager. Family vintage!

How many pairs of shoes do you have?

It’s got to be over 25, but I’ve not thrown any out over 7 or 8 years.

golden girl or the natural look?

Natural with a little bit of bronze. I think the golden look’s a little bit dated.

What other celebs wardrobe would you kill for?

Someone like Natalie Portman because she’s got an interesting look and it’s dynamic and it’s current and she’s very comfortable in what she wears. Or maybe Diane Kruger. Or if I’m feeling in a quirky mood, I’d go for Alison Goldfrapp.

Do you have any fashion tips?

If it’s a really tight dress put talcum powder underneath, which really does help and makes it a lot more comfortable, but you’ve got to be careful not to put much on because it seeps through. Also, I think buying clothing items and then putting your own swing on things is something you can do too. Oh, and never legs and cleavage. Never!

Are you a heels or a trainer’s girl?

I’m a flip-flop girl, actually. I like to wear heels because it makes me taller, but in my heart I like trainers. Not rude girl trainers! I do like flats though.

What’s your must have item in your make up bag?

An eyebrow pencil because you can use that on your eyes and your eyebrows. And concealer.

What is your signature colour?

Grey. I wear a lot of different tones of grey.
